The project

Titon HardwareBased in the market town of Haverhill in Suffolk, Titon Hardware manufactures and supplies ventilation and window products, used primarily in new build and social housing. As part of their continued production of innovative and cost-effective products, Titon invests heavily in research and development. Both their production and research and development departments are based in Titon’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Haverhill.

NET LED first heard from Titon Hardware when they were making plans to upgrade to LED lighting in their Assembly Area, with the aim of making energy cost savings and improving the quality of light. Titon wanted the new LED lighting to replicate the colour and brightness of natural light, to replace the harsh, yellow light emitted from the old fittings.

The NET LED Regional Sales Manager visited Titon Hardware to survey the premises and understand their specific lighting requirements. Following this, the NET LED Technical Team were able to provide lighting designs and savings calculations to find the optimum solution in terms of light quality and energy cost savings.

The Solution

Harlton LED Low Bays were installed in the assembly area. Equipped with Mean Well drivers and Philips LED chips as standard, and offering a high lumen output per watt, these fittings offer the energy savings and light quality needed in a manufacturing facility.

With a colour temperature of 5700K, the Low Bays provide a bright, white light of the same level seen in natural daylight, creating a pleasant and productive working environment for Titon staff.

The Result

Since installing the Harlton LED Low Bays, staff at Titon Hardware have noticed a huge improvement in light levels and colour temperature in the Assembly Area.

Titon’s Maintenance Technician Colm Feakes, who was involved in the project from initial planning to installation, is extremely pleased with the new Low Bays, and has said that they “provide a bright, natural light and have greatly improved the light quality in the Assembly Area”.

The switch to LED lighting is an ongoing project for Titon Hardware, and plans are in place to install NET LED Low Bays throughout the manufacturing facilities in stages. Once complete, Titon expect to see significant long-term energy savings.

The new Low Bays provide a bright, natural light and have greatly improved the light quality in the Assembly Area.
