The Project

Suffolk One Sixth Form CollegeSuffolk One is a Sixth Form College based in Ipswich, with goals to develop an inclusive and inspirational learning centre, where all talents and achievements are equally valued.

The brief was simple – improve on the existing light levels of corridors throughout the college, with a result that saves Suffolk One on energy costs. As part of our social responsibility, we were happy to provide a site visit and assist the Sixth Form Centre with the specialised advice our Regional Sales Managers provide.

The Solution

Initially, 8” 4000K Essential Slim Emergency Downlights were fitted as a trial in a corridor, providing the energy-efficient solution the college needed.

After students and faculty were pleased with the installation, an additional 897 Downlights were installed in the college, with 292 Emergency Lighting Kits among them. The install was simple as contractors could use the existing cut-outs to fit the Slim Downlight straight in.

The Result

Since the installation, staff and students alike have seen a vast improvement in light quality, noticing improved visibility throughout Suffolk One resulting in a brighter, more welcoming environment overall. Energy costs have also decreased.

We have been incredibly pleased with the lighting transformation within our study space. We have received several comments on how much nicer the environment is because of the quality of the light.
