The Project

Elizabeth Woodville SchoolElizabeth Woodville School is an inclusive comprehensive school based in Milton Keynes.

They focus on encouraging students to take part in extracurricular activities so that they develop a wide range of skills and experiences that help them in and out of school.

Nigel Simms, Maintenance Manager at Elizabeth Woodville, wanted to replace their previous lighting with LED Luminaires to increase the quality of lighting for the school’s sports hall and reduce both maintenance and energy costs.

The Solution

Once a site visit was conducted, we found that Orwell 100W High Bays were the best lighting solution we had to offer. A lighting guide was completed by our LIA trained technical experts, to provide the correct light levels to meet building regulations and suit the needs of the Sports Department.

20 Orwells were delivered the next day, which helped the installation process to be as smooth as possible. Each High Bay was installed in the suggested locations for maximum effect.

The Result

With the Orwell High Bays now in place. Both faculty and staff noticed a drastic increase in the quality of lighting within the Sports Department. The sports halls’ energy and maintenance bills have decreased, with plans set in place to refurbish the rest of the school with our range of LED products.

The results are beyond what I expected. Both the Sports Department and I are very impressed with both the clarity and brightness of the fittings.
