NET LED Limited Newsletter 2021 – Quarter 1 Update

NET LED has enjoyed steady growth in Q1, with sales exceeding our budgeted expectations. So far this year, we have already pushed the boundaries in all departments to further excel in the services we provide to electrical wholesalers, and we are proud to detail some of these below. We have also continued to invest in our in-house manufacturing as the demand for Made In Britain product lines continue to grow.
We have a reputation as a back-to-back supplier where no order is too small, supporting wholesalers with their last-minute requirements as well as larger projects. With this in mind, in January, we worked with our main courier, UPS, to extend our order cut off time to 6 pm, thereby allowing extra time to place orders for next day delivery to relieve the pressure on wholesalers. It is a move that has already received much positive feedback.
An effect of the pandemic is that contractors and electricians increasingly want to research and purchase their lighting requirements online. To make their lives easier, we upgraded the myNETLED wholesaler sales platform to also function as a quotation portal for contractors. Contractors cannot order directly from us, but myNETLED allows them to build projects containing all their lighting and accessory requirements, then send these automatically to up to three of their preferred wholesalers for their discounted quotations. The contractor portal provides full technical specifications and installation guides so that everything is on hand to select the perfect lighting for the jobs. This system is also allowing us to drive more business from the contractors to the wholesalers, ensuring all parties benefit.
At the beginning of the year, we launched our latest 2021 catalogue, which can be seen online at www.netled.co.uk/cat. It features over 250 commercial and industrial products, including brand new ranges:

- Saxon Range – Surface Mount Downlights
- Girton Range – Square, IP65 rate Wallpacks
- Hatley Range – Up/Down Wallpacks

In March, we were delighted to be awarded a European funded business grant contributing towards our £250,000 digitisation project, which will enable us to provide a fully digital sales and marketing platform. Wholesalers and contractors are already enjoying the benefits of myNETLED, whereby sales and quotations sync to our warehouse’s real-time stock, combining our sales and supply process for contractors, wholesalers, and NET LED. To date, these streamlined processes have enabled more accessible purchasing capabilities and greater cost-effectiveness and use of contractor time. It has also seen our carry-forward order book, resulting from stockouts, reduced to zero. Our full catalogue is 99.9% in stock, and all orders are delivered as needed on time. The additional investment will further enhance that platform with developments designed to deliver on our promise to enhance user experience and relieve any friction points in the search and transaction process.
