About Us

A light-emitting diode (LED) is an electronic light source. The LED was introduced as a practical electronic component in 1962. All early devices emitted low-intensity red light, but modern LEDs are available across the visible, ultraviolet and infra-red wavelengths, with very high brightness. LEDs are based on the semiconductor diode. When the diode is forward biased (switched on), electrons are able to recombine with holes and energy is released in the form of light. This effect is called electroluminescence and the colour of the light is determined by the energy gap of the semiconductor. The LED is small in area (less than 1mm²) with integrated optical components to shape its radiation pattern and assist in reflection. LEDs present many advantages over traditional light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size and faster switching.
Our Commitment

We appreciate that purchasing quality LED lighting products from suppliers that consistently deliver results and value for money is tough in any market, especially with the number of manufacturers growing monthly. Our aim is to be a supplier that you can trust, with credibility and a track record of providing quality, innovative products at competitive prices.

NET LED is proud to be an approved member of the Lighting Industry Association (LIA), which seeks to represent members that demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, expertise, and ethical standards.

NET LED is also an approved member of the EEF community. EEF is an organisation that champions the manufacturing industry in the UK and across the EU, helping to create and maintain the best possible business environments where manufacturers and wider industries can innovate and thrive.

Quality & Environmental Management System

NET LED is certified by the UKAS approved body BSI against the internationally recognized standards of ISO9001 for Quality and ISO14001 for Environmental standards.

NET LED sells products world-wide that must meet the regulatory requirements of different countries and regions. Whilst all of the products are required to meet CE directives many were also affected after the 1st July 2006 when new directives of the European Union required that we and our customers be compliant with the Waste Electronic and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directives.

CE

CE marking on all products is the visible declaration that the electrical equipment satisfies all the provisions of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1994. Equipment bearing the mark has been independently tested and certified as meeting the requirements and thereby entitled to free circulation throughout the EEA.

RoHS Directive

No product containing more than a specified limit of certain hazardous substances can be allowed to be sold in Europe, unless a product falls into an “exempt” category. Those products which are required to comply and are supplied through NET LED are in full compliance with the directive.

WEEE Directive

This directive does not directly apply to products, but defines the requirement on a Producer to provide for the recovery and recycling of electronic waste. NET LED is a registered member of the Recolight WEEE compliance scheme thus ensuring it meets its obligations. All required NET LED products have been marked with the “crossed out wheelie-bin” symbol where appropriate, which indicates that the item is electronic equipment and must be disposed of in the appropriate manner.

NET LED Lighting distributes on behalf of quality manufacturers based in the United Kingdom, Europe and the Far East. We build relationships with manufacturers we trust to deliver products of consistently high quality. We ensure the manufacturers we choose to work with adhere to processes certified by independent bodies.
